About me

who i am

Welcome! My name is Siobhan. I'm a therapist in Southend-on-Sea with a passion for spreading the importance of mental healthcare. Alongside my therapy, I also work as a counselling tutor to train the next generation of counsellors and pass my enthusiasm along! My goal is to show everyone the value of therapy and their inner potential.

How i work

I provide face-to-face therapy in my comfy therapy space at home, or online therapy via Skype. I am person-centred. This means I value the individuality of my clients and provide complete acceptance for who they are. I support, challenge and advise clients as appropriate, depending on what they want to gain from therapy.

What to expect

Should you reach out for support, I will arrange a free 15 minute phone call with you so we can get to know each other and decide if I'll be the right fit as your therapist. Whether you've been through it before or not, therapy can be nerve-wracking. I try to make it as comfortable as I can while you build your trust in me.

the room

I'm based in Southend-on-Sea and work from home in a cosy, confidential office space. I aim to make the room as welcoming and comfortable as possible for anybody seeking support, and will aim to accommodate additional needs as and when possible. I've included a picture here so that you know what to expect!

Just a few things to note:

  • There is a flight of stairs between the entryway and the counselling room, so unfortunately the room is not accessible for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.
  • Although he is kept away from the room during sessions, my cat Hector likes to spend time in the room (as you can see!), which may cause reactions for those with pet allergies.

The room is an 11 minute walk from Westcliff train station, minutes away from bus routes along London Road and also has limited street parking.

If you're unable to make it in person, not to worry! Skype sessions are available for anybody who would prefer online support.

you're in safe hands

As an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), you can rest assured that I meet their high standards of ethics, expertise and training.
